I Am the Avalanche make music to drive way too fast to. The sort of anthemic rock 'n' roll that used to get you all riled up, and still can, chasing those fleeting vestiges of your more passionate youth as you move forward into "real life." This is music to get pissed and yell along to, or put on your headphones and just move to. It's important to have a special selection of moving music to fall back on when you need the sort of kick in the pants that can only be delivered with the rent blend of audio and adrenalin.

From frontman Vinnie Caruana on the song "The Shape I'm In," which we're premiering right here:

"I wrote these lyrics in the most physical pain I've ever been in multiplied by 1,000. I spent months bedridden and doped up on painkillers and muscle relaxers from an injury I sustained. Sanchez [guitarist Mike Ireland] came through with the killer riff. This is our anthem for the bruised."

And on their forthcoming third album, Wolverines, out Tuesday, March 18 :

"It's finally here after lot of mental and physical anguish, long nights, and lightning-in-a-bottle moments. Times spent at rock bottom and also feelings of personal triumph have shaped what I feel is the perfect record for us as a band and for our supporters as well."
