Confederate battle flags were found around the Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta this morning. Rev. Shannon Jones told the Associated Press that police and federal officials were working to remove them.

Jones added that the plastic flags, which had wooden sticks, were discovered "all around" the grounds early in the morning. King once preached at the historic church, which is part of the King center and a National Park Service site.
